3-COURSE SET MENU
It's got some "chef-y" touches but it's really just good home cooking. We use the freshest ingredients sourced from our own garden or from country pantries in the area. Welcome to Ouma's farmhouse kitchen.
We usually start with a vegetable-based soup made with seasonal veggies from our garden. When we don't have any produce though, we have to buy. In season, when we can get trout, you may be treated to a smoked trout paté.
Your main course depends on what we have been able to source from our suppliers. Our Oxtail is famous. So is our Lamb Shank. This is braised very slowly (in a cast-iron casserole) in a very slow oven in a bath of port and wine and served with rice or creamy mash and veg of the day. Mop up the sauce with home made bread.

The emphasis is on slow, rib-sticking comfort food.
Desserts: Bread and butter pudding, Spotted dick, Apple pie, Pear and chocolate sponge (thanks Nigella) Cheesecake...we like to surprise on this one.
Or maybe you would prefer locally produced cheeses and biscuits?
