Drakensberg accommodation
Doing the Midlands Meander and looking for accommodation? Doing the Drakensberg and need accommodation? With our deep rural setting and spectacular views we meet the needs of those
who require seclusion, tranquillity and nothing more intrusive than the sound of a tractor in the
middle distance or an owl hooting at night.

You can expect extraordinary standards of cleanliness, comfortable beds and mattresses, crisply laundered linen and a wide range of high quality comfort and cosmetic accessories.
Halls is ideally positioned outside Mooi River, on the Giant's Castle road and is your Midlands Meander / Drakensberg accommodation option that gives you easy access to both the central, northern and southern Drakensberg and the Midlands Meander. Giants Castle is a mere 45 minutes away on a tarred but small rural road that switchbacks steeply into the Central Drakensberg.
Swim in natural pools fed by crystal-clear streams. Giant's Castle – the centrepiece of the Drakensberg World Heritage Site boasts impressive outdoor galleries of stone age rock art. People come from all over the World to view these treasures. Giant's Castle is also home to some of the biggest populations of lammergeier and eland in the World. And the flowers in Summer - magic.

What Our Guests Say " The management and staff couldn't do enough for you." Terry and Pat Metcalf, Hampshire, UK. |
Halls is also within a few kilometres of some of the gems on the Midlands Meander like Sharrow Weaving; the Linen Loft; the Wine Cellar; Hartford House; Treverton Schools and Weston Agricultural College.
A guided tour of the Drakensberg battlefields will bring to vivid life the Anglo Boer War engagements at Spioenkop, Colenso and Willow Grange. Or play a round of golf on some of the most picturesque courses in the country such as Boschoek, Champagne Sports Club or the Mooi River Country Club.
Alternatively, go fly fishing for trout, bass or yellows in any one of the professionally managed 28 dams and 2 rivers to which Halls Country House arranges access for their guests. Or perhaps you'd like a trip up Sani Pass? And if you're looking for something really sublime - take in a Drakensberg Boys' Choir concert.

What Our Guests Say " A very pleasant establishment which deserves to be better known. It has an ideal position far from the madding crowd, both for the Midlands Meander and the Drakensberg mountains. Highly recommended for overseas visitors." Mike Zimmerman, Durban, South Africa. |
How about a pamper session at a day-spa? Or a horse ride into the Drakensberg foothills at the Hlatikulu Crane and Wetland Sanctuary? (They rescue abused horses and it takes them years to bring them back from the abyss). And for a real adrenaline jump try a Karkloof Canopy Tour.
