Have you been searching for a Drakensberg or a Midlands Meander venue that does parties or small weddings? By small we’re talking 20 people and often less.
Take over our entire guest house (for your exclusive use) for 2 or 3 nights at a very reasonable price. We have 5 double en-suite rooms, which means we can accommodate 10 people on-site. Overflow guests are accommodated in delightful cottages on neighbouring farms – all within a few kilometres at most. Obviously all catering (breakfasts and evening banquets) is done here. And our bar is open anytime you need it.
So how does it work? Well whether it’s a wedding or that special birthday party, the emphasis is more on relationship building than on the razzmatazz of a big, expensive production, that often creates a lot of angst. There is a huge diversity of things to do.
Some members of your party might fancy a walk at Giant’s Castle in the Drakensberg. Some might like to try their hand at fly-fishing. Or play a round of golf. Or go horse riding. Or do a bit of shopping on the Meander. Or go for a pamper session at a health hydro. Or whatever. It’s all about finding, and sharing, common interests. And enjoying each other’s company in convivial surroundings.
We don't charge a venue fee - we make our turn on the accommodation, the liquor and the food. Any special arrangements you might like, such as the hire of “our” wedding chapel, marquee, furniture, nail artist, Zulu dance troupe, bagpiper or whatever you can either do yourself or, we’ll do it for you - on a cost plus 15% basis.
A brief note on “our” wedding chapel. Our guest house was originally built for the Headmaster of a small private school in 1904. The old school chapel is 4 kilometres up the road. With its deep rural setting, stone construction and stained glass windows it's a little gem of a chapel. We don’t own it now but we “owned it” in 1904.

3 Nights - R19 500
That gives you 5 double en-suite rooms, breakfast and a 5-course buffet banquet each evening. Additional guests would be an incremental R650 per person per night.
